It’s cheap, it’s late, it’s guaranteed to give you a headache. No, it’s not tequila…
1. They want to have a say in where they stay
Much like a leisure traveler, your road warriors desire a degree of control over their travel plans & options. Allowing them to have a say in where they stay will ensure that they are happier and more productive while out of office.They’ll be more comfortable and will have an experience that is more personalized to their style.
2. Experiencing the locale is a must
While they may be conducting important meetings with clients, attending conferences, and keeping in touch with HQ, your employees won’t work the entire time they’re on the road. They’ll want to relax and experience the city like a local. Building in time that allows for exploration of the city when they’re not working is a must. More importantly, the walkability of locations is a necessity. Don’t coop them up in a hotel that’s faraway from the hot spots. 3. Expect the basics
Paying $15 for internet at a hotel is no way to go through life. Don’t create unnecessary stress. Free internet, a desk to work at, outlets galore, smart TV, etc are just a few of the ways to meet your employees’ expectations when they’re on the go. We bolster these expectations with our 24/7 concierge and our ability to personalize every stay (think record players in every room with a curated set of vinyls just for you).
4. Personal comfort is key
They want a frictionless experience when they travel--nonstop flights, no lines for check-in, etc. While we can’t guarantee that your flight won’t be delayed for ‘maintenance issues’, we can guarantee that there won’t be a line at check-in. It’s just one of the many ways we make a stay with us hassle free. Most importantly, our spacious rooms feel like home away from home. There’s a full kitchen and the ability to have it pre-stocked with whatever your heart (read: stomach) desires, a living room with the most comfortable couches & chairs you’ve ever lounged on, and the best mattresses money can buy.
5. Want the option to stay in alternative accommodations
Most of your travelers likely use alternative accommodations when they’re on vacation or a personal trip. Giving them the option to choose their own adventure will make them feel at ease on the road. No more sterile roadside hotel rooms that are far far away from the best parts of town. Trade the access road views for walkable neighborhoods and a sense of home.

The Skylounge at Guild Lamar Union
Our Lamar Union property boasts arguably our most impressive collaborative space: the Skylounge. This room is able to be booked by any of our guests wishing to host an event on-site. Its floor to ceiling windows fill the room with plenty of natural light, there’s comfortable seating galore, and space for just about anything you might wish to do. In March of 2018, The Guild hosted a South by Southwest brunch for all of our guests in town—just one of the numerous events we host throughout the year.
The Loft at Guild Victory Park
This room in Dallas doubles as the perfect event space for just about anything. The exposed brick walls and high ceilings create a space in which conversation & creativity flow naturally. The building was once an old train station at the turn of the century, and much of that rich history has been preserved within its walls. The location right across from American Airlines Center (seriously, it’s less than 100 yards) is perfect for those attending a conference or event. The Guild hosted an Omakase dinner for our corporate clients in Dallas in August 2018. Check out the pictures below.

They're enrolled in every rewards program, have a million plus miles, and TSA PreCheck. Think George Clooney in Up in the Air. They've got traveling down to a science. They're prepared for any & every situation.
They've clearly never done this before. They bring four water bottles so they don't have to buy them at the airport (they heard they're expensive). They get taken by TSA, as does their hairspray, flame thrower, and full-sized shampoo. They leave their Gateway laptop in their over-sized carryon bag.
The Siege Tactics
Four suitcases, a carryon, and a backpack. They actually brought the kitchen sink. Or they might just be trying to invade Russia during the winter. We may never know.
Efficiency is key with these folk. Everything they own fits onto their back. They've been around the Bloc(k) a time or two, so they know the drill when it comes to airports. That said, you might see them brushing their teeth and/or bathing in the sink.
The Family of Four
You hear it before you see it. It's a beast with eight legs and four noses. It moves at a catatonically slow pace. If you're stuck behind it in security, it's already too late.
You spot their 'Just Married' luggage tag first. Then you notice the hand holding. And all the other PDA. For them it's a trip of firsts. Just make sure you're not around to witness their first fight.
The I'm Late!
They're moving at a pace that's not quite a fast-walk but not quite a jog. They're beginning to sweat. They're frantically conversing with employees. They try and cut in line at security. They arrive at the boarding door 30 seconds too late and miss their flight.
The Unaccompanied Minor
They're truly a small fish in a big pond. They're usually being shepherded around like a little lamb. They're the first on the plane and the last off. Most importantly, their caretaker is teaching them how to become an Elite traveler.
Mostly like found slamming margaritas at Chili's Too. They show you that 5 o'clock somewhere also means 5 AM. They're already dressed in their beachwear in anticipation of touching down hours from now.
No that's not LeBron James in his warm-up gear. It's the ultimate travel outfit: sweats, sneakers, sunglasses, and noise cancelling headphones. They're going to fall asleep once they hit their seat.
